2024 was a rather disappointing year in gaming with many major titles missing the mark or suffering from optimization issues. However, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year in gaming with the arrival of highly anticipated RPGs like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, and Fable.
With more and more games being produced using Unreal Engine 5, 2025 may be the year many PC gamers are forced to upgrade their hardware. Some of the best looking games of 2024, including Black Myth: Wukong and STALKER 2, pushed the minimum requirements to play higher than ever before.
While in 2024 it seemed like every other game releasing was another MMO with unoriginal ideas, developers seem to be returning to the classic RPG experience in 2025 with sequels like Borderlands 4, Slay the Spire 2, and Subnautica 2.
