Siesbarg is undoubtedly one of the coolest and the rarest mounts in World of Warcraft: The War Within. Siesbarg is the same model as the Reins of the Sureki Skyrazor - the rare Queen Ansurek mount - with different coloring and stands taller than all the dragon riding mounts from Dragonflight.
If you haven't started the quest already, know that Siesbarg is obtained after a questline with a grueling grind: collecting 1500 Nerubian Chitin, 1000 Nerubian Venom, and 500 Nerubian Blood to have a scientist reconstruct the rare mount.
Here are the best ways to farm Nerubian chitin for Siesbarg's questline "Consolation Files" as well as other frequently asked questions about the mount.
How do I get the quest to start collecting Nerubian chitin?
To get the quest Consolation Files, you'll need to defeat the rare elite Tka'ktath in Azj Kahet. Having the Rare Scanner addon for World of Warcraft: The War Within will help you narrow down which spawn point Tka'ktath is at. You can also find groups in Group Finder under "Custom" join and wait for the mob to spawn together.
What phrase appears in area chat when Tka'ktath is about to spawn?
"The shadow of a hungering beast moves over the city."
How often does Tka'ktath spawn?
Tka'ktath has an unpredictable spawn time of anywhere from 6-11 hours apart. The best way to catch the rare elite when it's around is to sit near the City of Threads with Rare Scanner up, or try to find a group in Group Finder.
How do I start the quest after defeating Tka'ktath?
Tka'ktath has a 70% chance to drop the Vial of Tka'ktath's Blood. This vial is a quest item that will start the questline Consolation Files. Turn in the beginning quest to Shalba in the City of Threads to get your first task - collecting 1500 Nerubian chitin.
Where is the best place to farm Nerubian chitin?
These are the three ways to farm the 1500 Nerubian chitin from fastest to slowest:
Join a "chitin farm" party in Custom Group Finder to farm Nerubians in the small cave near Dornogol. There are a couple places in the Isle of Dorn were Nerubians spawn. The small cave near Cinderbew Meadery is a hyper-spawn location, and you will almost always be able to find other players looking to form a party in Group Finder.
You could try to farm the mobs alone, but being in a complete party of 5 will cause other parties to phase away from you, decreasing the chance that other players will tag the mobs ahead of you. There are 7-8 mobs in this cave that will hyper-spawn as soon as you defeat them, dropping Nerubian chitin.
Use Follower Dungeons to farm Siesbarg mount materials. Follower Dungeons are the fastest way to collect Nerubian Blood in Step 3, but you could also use them to farm Nerubian chitin and Nerubian venom as well. The drawback of Follower Dungeons is that the mobs don't spawn again. You will just have to re-run the dungeon over and over again, making it slower than the Dornogol cave farm.
Finally, Nerubian chitin will drop off of any Nerubians, meaning you could collect it slowly while doing other quests or farming reputation in Ajz-Kahet. This is obviously the slowest option, but may be best for some people who want to do some different activities at the same time.
Where is the best place to farm Nerubian venom?
Nerubian venom drops off all the same mobs as Nerubian chitin. Go back to the cave near Dornogol, run more follower dungeons in Azj-Kahet, or keep killing Nerubians out in the open zone.
Where is the best place to farm Nerubian blood?
Nerubian blood is where the quest changes. Nerubian blood drops off of ONLY elite Nerubian mobs, and the fastest way to find a bunch of elites is in the follower dungeon Ara-kara City of Echoes. You can queue into a Follower Dungeon from the Looking for Group tab.
Make sure you don't toggle the Dungeon Assistance, so you stay the leader of your group. This allows you to tag every mob in the dungeon. You should get between 80-100 Nerubian Blood per run of Ara-Kara, meaning you should be ready for 5-7 loops of the dungeon.
After turning in the final 500 materials, Shalba will give you your new mount, Siesbarg!
Siesbarg is just one of the many rare mounts available in The War Within. The Siren Isle releases in patch 11.0.7 on December 17th, adding a new zone and new mounts to farm such as the Shadow of the Doubt and the Breaker's Song.
