The Detective title is the reward for the achievement Azeroth's Greatest Detective, an achievement obtained by completing at least 2 of the 4 Guest Relations achievements.

It's likely that these achievements will ONLY be available during WoW's 20th Anniversary events, so players will need to farm the achievements before January 7th, 2025.

There are four potential achievements that players can complete to get credit for Azeroth's Greatest Detective:

  • Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager - Complete all 9 Guest Relations side questlines

  • Crate Insurance Agent - Find and return 6 Celebration Crates

  • I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats - Complete all 4 chapters of Guest Relations

  • No Crate Left Behind - Find and return all Celebration Crates

As of November 21st, all 4 achievements are now available for players! Below is a list of all 9 Guest Relations side quests and a linked guide, linked guides for all 4 chapters of Guest Relations, and the locations of all 11 Celebration Crates.

For Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager, players must complete all 9 of the Guest Relations side quests:

  • The Case of Misfortune

  • The Case of a Good Book

  • The Loud and Smelly Case

  • The Case of an Old Soul

  • The Case of Great Aspirations

  • The Case of a Feathered Friend

  • The Case of the Missing Mementos

  • The Case of the Pet Games

  • The Case of Staged Disaster

For Crate Insurance Agent, players can easily track down the first 6 Celebration Crates:

  • Hazy Celebration Crate - In Desolace, but can only be seen as a ghost

  • Soggy Celebration Crate - In Zuldazar, buy a Clam Digger from Nikto and interact with the shell upstairs

  • Sandy Celebration Crate - In Thousand Needles, pick up the Water-Resistant Receipt and buy the crate from Vashti the Wandering Merchant

  • Dirt Caked Celebration Crate - At the end of the Karazhan Crypts

  • Battered Celebration Crate - In Rivenwood, Howling Fjord. Use the Torch of Pyrreth to reveal it

  • Waterlogged Celebration Crate - Underwater off the coast of Tanaris in a gnome building

To complete No Crate Left Behind, players will need to find all 11 Celebration Crates. Currently, 10 have been revealed, and players expect the final one will be found sometime this week.

Here are the other known Celebration Crates:

  • Charred Celebration Crate - In Mount Hyjal at the base of the trampoline players used for the Cataclysm bear cub quest

  • Mildeweed Celebration Crate - Use the Potion of Truth in Ashenvale and fly down to Feralas to find the crate. ANY load screen will break the potion.

  • Crystalized Celebration Crate - Inside Oshu'gun crystal in Nagrand

  • Surprisingly Pristine Celebration Crate - Collect the Mysterious Bones from a cave outside of Ahn'Qiraj by the water. Then use the bones at the Unmarked Grave in Stormheim.

  • Ghostly Celebration Crate - The Ghostly Ransom Note leads players to Maldraxxus, specifically the Seat of the Primus. The Ghostly Celebration Crate can be found in the upper level of the Seat of the Primus near the portal.

Maldraxxus is an area in Shadowlands. If you haven't done the Shadowlands campaign, you can take the portal in the Timeways to the Necrotic Wake to get there.

To complete the achievement "I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats," players will need to complete the Guest Relations tutorial and all 4 chapters of the questline. Here are complete guides for each chapter:

If players complete at least 2 of the achievements above, they will complete the achievement Azeroth's Greatest Detective and earn the title of Detective!

Players will then be able to access the puzzles for Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle.
