How to Complete Archives: Seeking History in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Every reset in WoW: The War Within, the weekly quest rotates between a choose-your-own-adventure quest, completing delves, and assisting with rebuilding the Titan Disc in the Archives of Dornogol. This week, players are tasked with completing the quest Archives: Seeking History and recovering 100 Titan Disc fragments. Below is a concise guide on how to complete this easy quest.

Every weekly reset, players can find High Speaker Brinthe in Dornogol to accept a weekly quest, rewarding players with a Pinnacle Cache. Each Pinnacle Cache in The War Within contains a Veteran level piece of gear, and the first four caches give players a restored coffer key for Bountiful Delves.

The weekly quest in Dornogol changes every Tuesday reset. Last week, players were able to choose their own adventure and pick between one of four different potential quests. This week, High Speaker Brinthe has the quest Archives: Seeking History.

The quest Archives: The First Disk requires players to obtain 100 Titan Disc Fragments, items that can be looted from rare elites, dungeon bosses, and interactable objects around Khaz Algar.

Completing the weekly quest in Dornogol is just part of the weekly reset checklist for the War Within. Players can take part in new PvP quests, the raid reset, and the chances for different weekly mounts like the Dauntless Imperial Lynx.

If you're a player that stopped questing through the campaign as soon as you hit level 80, you may be in for some extra work! This weekly quest requires players to have advanced through The War Within's campaign enough to unlock The Archives in Dornogol. You won't be able to turn in the weekly quest without access to The Archives.

If you already run Mythic dungeons weekly, you will have no problem completing this quest. 15 titan disc fragments drop off of each dungeon boss if completed on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic 0 difficulties, or if completed as a Follower Dungeon.

If you want to speed through the quest or have another piece of Veteran gear on you before starting Mythic keystone dungeons, you can quickly farm 100 titan disc fragments by running Follower dungeons or heroic difficulty dungeons.

If you run dungeons to complete Archives: The First Disc, you only have to defeat 7 dungeon bosses to complete the quest. This means you only have to complete 2-3 dungeons to complete the quest!

If you want to avoid dungeons altogether, you can also get all 100 titan disc fragments from doing other world content, like killing rare elite mobs. Rare elite mobs give 10 titan disc fragments each, meaning you'll have to defeat 10 to complete the weekly quest.

If you're looking for a good place to farm rare elite mobs, the Lamplighter region in Hallowfall often has 3 to 4 rare elites up at a time.

Finally, you can also get some titan disc fragments from interactable objects around Khaz Algar, like Disturbed Earth piles. These piles of earth will give only 1 disc fragment each, but if you're really in need of Veteran gear before trying harder content, this is a viable option. Disturbed Earth piles can be found all over every region of Khaz Algar.

To complete Archives: The First Disc, players will turn in their 100 titan disc fragments to Speaker Brinthe and receive a Pinnacle Cache. Each Pinnacle Cache will have a Veteran level piece of gear, some crafting reagents, and first four caches will have a Restored Coffer Key to be used in Bountiful Delves.

In order to complete Archives: Seeking History, players can complete the following to collect 100 Titan Disc Fragments:

  • Complete Delves for 35 titan fragments per delve

  • Complete dungeons on Follower difficulty, Normal, Heroic, or Mythic 0 for 15 per boss

  • Defeat elite rare mobs for 5 to 10 discs each

  • Find Disturbed Earth piles around Khaz Algar for 1 disc each

  • Turn in the quest to High Speaker Brinthe to earn the weekly Pinnacle Cache

Although there are three main ways to farm out 100 titan disc fragments, the fastest way is to complete dungeons, whether it's in Mythic 0's, heroics, or using the new Follower dungeons.
