Conquest of Azeroth is an entirely new world created by Project Ascension that's currently in its alpha stage If you've never played Project Ascension, it's a classless World of Warcraft project that combines classic WoW with infinite build possibilities.
Players will need to donate DP to Project Ascension for access to the alpha game Conquest of Azeroth. Right now, on Ascension's site, access to the alpha costs $15 and includes a bunch of extras on top of the early access key.
Project Ascension is close to releasing their Public Test Realm, allows everyone to play Conquest of Azeroth for free! With all the bonuses you get with purchase of an early access key, it may be worth it to get the bundle anyway.
Players that buy an early access key to Conquest of Azeroth will also get an exclusive transmog called Cyclopean Dread, the "Founder" character title, an exclusive mount, an exclusive pet, two hearthstones to use in-game, and 60 scrolls to use in-game.
Conquest of Azeroth features 21 entirely new classes that will have 3 specializations each. On top of these specializations, there will still be free pick abilities that players can use to customize their characters even more.
Conquest of Azeroth is a classes version of Vanilla WoW that also features Mythic+ dungeons and raids on numerous difficulties. The level cap in the alpha is now the max Vanilla level 60, so now is the perfect time to jump into this server!
Here are the 21 brand new classes available in Conquest of Azeroth and their core abilities:
Necromancer
Necromancers are dark mages that wield both Frost and Disease spells. Entomb buries your targets alive, stunning them for 3 seconds. Raise Flesh Golem summons a flesh golem to fight for you in combat. They are tanky adds that can also taunt. Necromancers can also summon skeletal archers to aid them in combat.
Sun Cleric
Sun Clerics are a paladin-like class that hail from the desert. They are traditionally lightly armored but can spec into heavy Valkyrie called Sun Knights. Sun Clerics use Solar Power to empower their skills and abilities and use Path of Light to increase their movement speed. Burning Sunray sears enemies away, growing in damage the more Solar Power you have.
Starcaller
Starcallers are also called Moon Knights. These defenders of Elune aren't squishy mages, but heavily armored fighters that can use martial weapons and lunar magic. Moonblade channels mana into your blade to empower it. Guardian of Elune is a shield ability that increases healing by 35%, and Starlight slows enemies while increasing your damage.
Reaper
Reapers are wraiths that can reap the souls of the enemies to restore health. Reap strikes the enemy for 150% damage and restores 5% of your maximum health. You will also gain a Reaped Soul on the third use. Doomrend cleaves for 400% damage and deals extra shadow damage. Underwalk allows you to stalk prey undetected and blink 8 yards ahead.
Tinker
Tinkers are inventors that opt to use different objects in combat instead of fighting in melee. Tinkers can equip a Rifle, Bomb, Launcher, Shotgun, or Sniper Rifle to use. Tinkers can also Deploy Bombs and Build Sentry Turrets to automatically shoot targets for 120 seconds.
Stormbringer
Stormbringers cast powerful range spells at risk to themselves. While casting lightning spells, you will also get stacks of Static. If you get too many, you'll Discharge and die. Stormbringers can also summon Wind Servants to help them in battle and conjure a Lightning Orb that can be manually moved and manipulated.
Knights of Xoroth
Knights of Xoroth hail from the burning hellscape of Xoroth and wield both Fire and Blood. Meat Cleaver gains Stacks of Deathfire that you can eventually purge with the Flames of Xoroth, bringing hellfire down on your enemies. Flesh Hook generates rage and pulls your enemies towards you.
Barbarian
Barbarians are tribal warriors that also have some Shamanistic abilities. On top of being able to Massacre their enemies, becoming enraged and generating stacks of Carnage, they can also call upon the Spirit of the Ancestors to resurrect fallen allies.
Cultist
Cultists serve the Old Gods and have been given powerful abilities by them. Casting any spell using the Old God's powers inflicts you with Insanity. If you get to 100 stacks, you'll be consumed by madness. Cultists can summon a Tentacle of the Old Gods, each of them having a different random effect. The Forbidden Ritual sacrifices your sanity to deal massive damage at the cost of your life.
Pyromancer
Pyromancers have a wide array of fire spells includes fire beams, flaming orbs, and summoning phoenixes. Scorching ray increases your Spell Haste on top of firing a powerful beam at the enemy. The most advanced pyromancers can even transform into dragons.
Ranger
Rangers have a passive ability to acquire Hide from fallen enemies and equip it for temporary buffs. Elude allows rangers to sneak around their enemies and Quick Shot generates combo points. Duelist's Strike allows the ranger to attack with a melee weapon for increased damage.
Runemaster
Runemasters are arcane assassins that craft powerful Runes. They can use runes to convert damage taken into mana, increase their damage, teleport themselves and allies, and summon pets to serve them. Runeblast hurts huge amounts of arcane damage and Conjure Rune Familiar conjures a familiar that increases your damage.
Felsworn
The Felsworn are freed agents of the Burning Legion. Glaive Rush rushes you forward slicing all enemies in your path. Spellbreak interrupts an enemies casts and dispels at the same time. Felstrikes are shadow strikes that can be triggered by any of your abilities.
Guardian
Guardians are masters of arms and armor and can withstand the most brutal assaults. Inspiration grants your other abilities bonus effects, and Challenge is a taunt that has a chance to fear the target. Gladiator Strike impales an enemy on your weapon and reduces the cooldown of you other skills.
Witch Hunter
Witch hunters are resourceful mercenaries that use crossbows, potions, and grenades. Weapon Swap allows you to switch between your crossbow and a Burning Blade. Crippling Shot slows the target and generates rage, and Death Lotus Shot fires a poisoned bolt.
Son of Arugal
Sons of Arugal are ferocious hunters that are cursed to turn into Worgen. Advanced Sons of Arugal are able to turn into their human form - blood mages - and heal themselves and their allies. Bloody Claws inflicts bleed on all your auto attacks when in Worgen form, and Howl of the Night Hunter stuns enemies.
Monk
Monks in Conquest of Azeroth differ from the standard class by infusing the power of Light into their abilities. Monks are spiritual warriors that inflict Holy Magic with their furious fists. Hundred Fist Strike unleashes a flurry of blows that can be increased with Attack Speed.
Chronomancer
Chronomancers use the magic of the Bronze Dragonflight to turn the fight into their favor. Timewalking allows you to Alter Time and return to an Infinite Clone - resetting your health and mana. Chronicles of History studies the attacks of an ally for 7 seconds and then allows the ally to release those abilities a second time.
Venomancer
Venomancers in Conquest of Azeroth are imbued with shapeshifting and poison abilities. Venomancers change form into a Nerubian Stalker, gaining access to abilities like tunneling underground and regenerating health. Venomancers can also change into Scorpids and Skitterers, each with their own unique moveset.
Primalist
Primalists are a mix between shamans and druids. They can invoke the powers held by Bears, Wolves, Eagles, and more, as well as unleash deadly elemental attacks. Geode Barrage flings stone fragments at enemies, and Body of Stone turns you into a Stone Elemental able to withstand heavy assault.
Witch Doctor
Witch doctors use potions, hexes, totems, and curses to wittle away their opponents. Voodoo alchemy buffs your allies while Serpent Ward conjures a Serpent to spit venom at your enemies. Big Bad Voodoo channels strength into your allies, reducing their damage taken by 80%.
