The classic zombie map Nuketown is returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as a multiplayer map - just in time for a Double XP Weekend and Double GobbleGum weekend.
Call of Duty fans have been counting down the days since Treyarch announced the return of the 2010 map Nuketown. Nuketown is the map that comes to mind when we think about the Call of Duty Black Ops franchise, and surely Treyarch knows it.
The revamped Nuketown map will have all the classic features set in a dry Nevada desert, but with updated graphics to match those of Black Ops 6.
A dedicated 24/7 multiplayer playlist of Nuketown AND a Double XP weekend both started less than an hour ago at 1 PM EST, and will run until November 4th at 1 PM EST.
Nuketown 24/7 is an accurate description for this weekend. Although the Nuketown 24/7 multiplayer playlist will be featured all weekend, there are also other hardcore options for the map. Players can also access TDM, Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed all set in nostalgic Nuketown.
It'll definitely feel different using the nostalgic buildings around Nuketown to take down other players instead of training zombies. Treyarch says the original Nuketown map was first inspired by Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Nuketown fans all over the world will be excited to dive back into the familiar map.
Call of Duty also recently added a new Infected mode. One player is randomly chosen to be the infected and eliminate other players. This Infected mode is also reminiscent of older Black Ops games, except in Black Ops 6 it includes Omnimovement - allowing players jump, run, and dive 360 degrees.
In the press release for Nuketown, Activision also announced the November 14th release date for the Season 1 battle pass that will include new multiplayer maps as well as a new seasonal Zombies map.
Nuketown 24/7 during a double XP weekend is the perfect time to put together loadouts and gun builds before Season 1 goes live!
The November 14th update will also add Omnimovement to Call of Duty: Warzone, the battle royale.
